April 16: SIGNIFICANT PDS WARNING

A Significant PDS Warning is now in effect.
This is in effect for the following areas:
-Central North Carolina
-East North Carolina
-East South Carolina


AT 1:39PM CDT... THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER ISSUED A HIGH RISK FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE MENTIONED AREAS.

ANYONE IN THOSE AREAS IS ADVISED TO DO THE FOLLOWING:
-SEEK SAFE SHELTER ASAP 
-HAVE DISASTER PREPARATIONS COMPLETE
-MAKE ALL PREPARATIONS FOR VIOLENT TORNADOES

Hail: HIGH
Large Hail: LIKELY
Damaging Winds: HIGH

This warning will expire at 11pm CDT tonight.

April 16: High Risk of Severe Weather

The year's first high risk of severe weather has been issued for the East Coast.
High risks of severe weather indicate the likelihood of strong, violent tornadoes, extremely large hail and unreal wind speeds.
The main threat will be a tornado outbreak. Below is the percentage forecast.
That 30% chance ignited the high risk. This will be an intense tornado outbreak occurring today,

April 16: POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION TORNADO WATCH

THIS IS A PDS WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
-EAST SOUTH CAROLINA
-EAST NORTH CAROLINA
-SOUTHEAST VIRGINIA

At 11:22pm, the Storm Prediction Center issued a PDS Tornado Watch for all areas above in the red box.

Large Hail: LIKELY
Damaging Winds: HIGH


ANYONE IN THESE AREAS IS ADVISED TO BEGIN EMERGENCY PREPARATIONS IMMEDIATELY.
ALL DISASTER PLANS SHOULD BE IN PLACE NOW.

THIS IS A LIFE-THREATENING SITUATION. TAKE COVER WHENEVER A TORNADO WARNING IS ISSUED.

THIS PDS WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT 10 PM EDT, WITH THE ACTUAL WATCH EXPIRING AT 9 PM EDT.

April 15 Total Severe Weather Reports

So far, 24 people have been confirmed injured and 16 people confirmed dead.

April 16 Severe Weather Outbreak

Today there is a severe weather outbreak forecasted over parts of the Southeast. Below is real-time threats for today.
First is the overall threat.
Most of the concern will be centered in the eastern portion of North Carolina.
Below is the Tornado threat, hail threat and damaging wind threat in that order.
It does appear yet again that a tornado outbreak is the most potent threat. That said, when parameters begin to rise/fall into tornadic categories, a watch will be issued by The Weather Centre.
