A moderate risk of severe weather has just been issued for the following areas:
-SW North Dakota
-NE South Dakota
-E Montana

...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED OVER PARTS OF THE EASTERN
MONTANA....WESTERN NORTH DAKOTA AND NORTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA LATER
   TODAY AND TONIGHT...
   
   THE NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER IN NORMAN OK IS FORECASTING THE
   DEVELOPMENT OF LARGE HAIL...AND DAMAGING WINDS OVER PARTS OF THE
   EASTERN MONTANA....WESTERN NORTH DAKOTA AND NORTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA
   LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT.
   
   THE AREAS MOST LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE THIS ACTIVITY INCLUDE
   
          EASTERN MONTANA
          WESTERN NORTH DAKOTA
          NORTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA
   
   ELSEWHERE...SEVERE STORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE FROM ERN MT AND NERN WY
   ACROSS THE DAKOTAS TO ERN NEB...IA...SRN MN AND WRN WI.
   
   A STRONG STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE EAST ACROSS THE NORTHERN ROCKIES
   THIS AFTERNOON AND ENCOUNTER A VERY UNSTABLE AIRMASS FROM EASTERN MT
   INTO THE WESTERN DAKOTAS. LIFT AND INCREASING WIND SHEAR WITH THIS
   SYSTEM WILL PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF NUMEROUS SEVERE STORMS WITH
   LOCALLY HIGH WINDS AND LARGE HAIL POSSIBLE. STORMS WILL CONGEAL INTO
   A FAST-MOVING SQUALL LINE THROUGH LATE AFTERNOON/EARLY EVENING WITH
   DAMAGING WINDS AND ISOLATED TORNADOES POSSIBLE FROM MONTANA INTO THE
   DAKOTAS.
   
   STATE AND LOCAL EMERGENCY MANAGERS ARE MONITORING THIS DEVELOPING
   SITUATION. THOSE IN THE THREATENED AREA ARE URGED TO REVIEW SEVERE
   WEATHER SAFETY RULES AND TO LISTEN TO RADIO...TELEVISION...AND NOAA
   WEATHER RADIO FOR POSSIBLE WATCHES...WARNINGS...AND STATEMENTS LATER
   TODAY.
