BEGIN POINT: 3.5 MILES WEST OF FRANKLIN
  END POINT: 1.1 MILES NORTH OF FRANKLIN

   EF SCALE: EF-1
WIND SPEED: 90-95 MPH

PATH LENGTH: 3.3 MILES
PATH WIDTH: 100 YARDS

FATALITIES: 0

NARRATIVE: NWS STORM DAMAGE SURVEY CONFIRMS AN EF-1 TORNADO NEAR
FRANKLIN IN SIMPSON COUNTY.  AT THE INITIAL TOUCHDOWN 3.5 MILES WEST
OF FRANKLIN NEAR HIGHWAY 100...THIS TORNADO DESTROYED A BARD AND
THREW THE DEBRIS FROM THE BARN ABOUT A QUARTER MILE.  THE TORNADO
THEN MOVED NORTHEAST DAMAGING THE ROOF OF ANOTHER BARN AND UPROOTING
OR SNAPPING AT LEAST 100 TREES.  THE TORNADO LIFTED JUST NORTH OF
FRANKLIN NEAR THE JUNCTION OF HIGHWAY 31 AND OGLES STREET.  MAXIMUM
WIND SPEEDS WITH THIS TORNADO WERE BETWEEN 90-95 MPH WITH A PATH
LENGTH OF 3.3 MILES AND PATH WIDTH OF 100 YARDS.
